Write Every Day to Keep the Crazies at Bay

From time to time you may find that I’m going to blog a review to a film I’ve recently seen, a TV show that’s recently aired or a book I’ve just finished. Here you will find the rules I make it a point to follow when writing those reviews.

No Spoils: To the best of my ability I try to keep every review spoil free. I HATE it when things get spoiled for me and I don’t like to do it to others. In fact, even when said others ask me questions I often just tell them to “watch/read/pay attention”.

That in mind. There will be episode specific recaps that may sway towards what some (myself included) could consider spoils. Once shows are aired the information is more than fair game. ie: if an episode is about a lost dog, you better believe I’m going to talk about the lost dog. However if something major happens – see character death – I’ll make it a point to keep that a secret.

Good and Bad: I try my best to maintain a balance between positive and negative aspects of something I’m reviewing. However sometimes there just simply isn’t anything good to say (and likewise bad).

No Flames: For those unfamiliar with the term – to flame something in a review is to essentially bash it maliciously. While it is possible that things did go horribly wrong and someone should die for derailing what could have been a spectacular train – there is always something to be learned from a mistake. Don’t believe me? See my blog on the film Skyline.
